As the name suggests these lenses are involved in a triplet system. There are three lenses in this system. This lens system involves three lenses so it allows this system to focus on different selected focal planes present on the backside. This results in the projection of different selected sizes of the selected objects to the screen or stage which is located at a desired distance. This amazing ability of the triplet lenses is very useful for the camera system. The use of triplet lens in the compact camera allowed the users to deliver sharp images of the objects which are far away through the process of focusing.

Uses of triplet lens system:

The incorporation of triplet lens system in camera was instrumental in creation of the compact, cheap, easy to handle and more efficient cameras. The use of this lens system resulted in fair definition of objects and perfect color balance. The main reason for this is the reduction in ghost flare. The other spherical aberrations like astigmatism, chromatic aberrations and even the other aberrations where rectified nearly hindered percent because of this Lens system.

Characteristics and the performance of the triplet lens system:

The triplet lens is a common name imparted to the objective lens. This objective lens consists of three lenses which are in one plane. The three lenses which are used in this are of different types and obviously have different nature of working. The triplet lens as a system has a literally three single lens system which are not joined together but they are separated from each other by a specific distance. The specialty of this lens system is that the entire lenses are single in nature. So if you want to describe this system in brief then it can be described as separated and singular lens system.

The lenses which are involved in this system are positive, negative and positive they are present in the same order as mentioned above.

This lens was originally meant to reduce the chromatic aberrations and the Seidel Aberrations at the same time. So you can see the dual advantage of this lens at the same time of operation it can remove and rectify the seidel aberrations at one and the same time.

The major use of triplet lens is it’s usage in the camera lenses. Since they can change focus and project objects at a different points.
