Body knows what is good for it as many doctors are now changing their old, outdated ideas to agree that sunshine is healthy. Both the sun and tanning beds produce two types of ultraviolet light rays, UVA and UVB. The skin absorbs both types, but in dissimilar ways. Both types of rays contribute to the health risks linked with extreme sun exposure, like the risk of developing skin cancers. For most people, exposing the arms and face to sunshine for about 20 minutes per day provides the skin with sufficient UVB rays to eliminate vitamin D deficiencies, without causing extensive damage to the skin. That amazing and simple as being in the sun can have such deep effects on the health is exciting news, but do not ignore the risks of overexposure.
