Tanning booth provide you with an excellent texture and color of tanned skin but the risk factors should be avoided by taking precautionary measures.

Although it is said that tanning booth is not harmful but at times it could turn out to be worse and could impart a deadly impact on your skin like the sun’s rays. Both the UVA and UVB rays emitted from tanning booths can cause severe eye injury, rashes, inflammations and even skin cancer. UV rays when combined with cosmetics, birth control pills and soaps could cause adverse reactions, thereby causing some itching or severe burns on the skin’s surface. Usually even an SPF sunscreen lotion cannot prevent such skin burns.

It is important to note that pregnancy and tanning booths should never go along. As it is dangerous for the pregnant woman and they should avoid these booths for their own safety and benefit.

A very interesting research work on skin tanning shows that teenage girls who are especially in between the age group of 18 to 19 years prefer tan color and use tanning booths more frequently. Moreover, the use of tanning booths amongst boys is much less compared to girls. The teenagers from Midwest and South supposedly use indoor tanning than others. These teenagers in their excitement for acquiring the special tanning facility forget the risk factors involved in this tanning process. Tanning of body often leads to skin cancer, wrinkles on skin, sagging skin and premature aging of the skin.

The ultraviolet light bulbs in the tanning booths cause tanning of skins by emitting UV rays. The tanning beds with UV rays are preferred by most people. Long time exposure to these beds could eventually cause skin cancer. However, recommendations from expert bodies as US Food and Drug Administration suggest that people exposed to UV rays are not prone to skin cancer. As a precaution from such risks, you can always save yourself by avoiding excessive and unwanted exposure to both artificial and natural UV rays.
