Oil massage is undoubtedly necessary as it moisturizes the delicate skin and helps protect from dryness. Pure mineral oils are a silky barrier to help stop excess moisture loss. Early oil considered effective on adult skin of sun worshippers. There is a strong-living myth that oil helps protect from the sun. In fact, oil actually enhances the damaging effect of the sun’s ultraviolet rays. Under the influence of sunlight oil begins hitting up annoying harmful effect of UV rays. All this causes scorching sunburns on the skin and as a result the probability to get skin cancer increases in many times. But teenage girls still continue to spend time in the sun, applying oil, to achieve what they think is an attractive tan. In reality, tanning is the body’s way of letting one know that damage is occurring
Use of oil for tanning:
Tanning oil is used in two minds that have opposite meanings. It is important to make a difference for health reasons. Some use it to refer to sunscreen while others use it to refer to oils that have no sunscreen but are meant to intensify exposure to the sun and thus improve a suntan. Persons who are fair-skinned or who are overly prone to exposure to the sun due to medications should be sure to avoid purchasing tanning oil that contains no sunscreen. Oil nourishes and moisturizes the skin. Therefore, it is a very important ingredient in many skin care and make-up products. Different types of tanning oil exist commercially. Some have anti-aging properties and hold sunscreen material to protect the skin from the ultraviolet rays of the sun. Others come without sunscreen and are meant only to enhance suntans.
Types of tanning oil:
Tanning oils that contain a mixture of grape seed, coconut and sesame oils, among other ingredients, has revitalizing, anti-aging and sun protection properties. They can be used liberally on the skin, including the scalp, to filter out ultraviolet rays when basking in the sun for a few minutes. Though, doctors advise that it is best to stay indoors when the sun’s rays are harshest, between 10 am and 4 pm. In addition, it is harmful to relax in the sun for hours at a time. Tanning is often associated with good health and liveliness, as vitamin D is obtained through exposure to sunlight. Still, contrary to popular belief, only a small amount of sunlight is required by the human body to obtain vitamin D. In fact, dermatologists recommend obtaining vitamin D from food rather than from sunlight.
