All fragrance products available in market are nothing but blend of many different chemicals; if we see in general all these scented or fragrance product has three principle chemicals, we can say these are base of every fragrance products are:

COCOAMIDE DEA i.e. diethyalomine: is a most common in shampoo, detergents and many other cosmetics. Second common chemical is PROPYLENE FLYCOL it is basically industrial antifreeze used in deodorant, shaving gels and many such products.

And third one is SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE and FLURIDE which used in cleansers, toothpastes.

Along with these three many more chemical are used in fragrance products.

Acetone is most common in colognes, cleansears, nail enamel remover and detergent. Benzaldehyde is commonly used in perfumes, colognes, hairsprays, deodorants, shampoos, soaps and detergents. Benzyl aldehyde is common ingredient of soaps, shampoos, air freshener, dishwasher liquids, bleach, after shave also in perfumes and deodorants. Like Benzyl aldehyde; Benzyl alcohol is also main ingredient used in deodorants, perfumes and detergents. Sometimes camphor is used in perfumes, nail enamels, fabric softners, nail colors and air fresheners.

Ethanol is the base of almost all fragrance products from perfumes, deodorants, shampoos, hairsprays, soaps to all sorts of cosmetics from nail color, nail color remover and many such products. Along with Ethyl alcohol; ethyl acetate and limonene are also commonly used in perfumes and detergents.

Linalool is used in creams and lotions and also in some cosmetics like hairsprays and bleach powder. Methylene chloride is usually used in shampoos and colognes. Along with these basic chemical some different terpenes like a-pinene, g-terpinene are used then 1,8-cineole, b-citronellol, b- myrecene, nerol, ocimene, b-phenethyl alcohol are also used. All synthetic chemicals used in fragrance products are usually derived from petroleum derivatives like benzene derivatives, aldehydes, ketones and many more. Many of these synthetic chemicals are hazardous to health and cause many diseases. So is advisable to use fragrance products which contain natural essential oils.

Essential oils mean natural oils mainly terpenoids, for example essential oil extracted from citrus fruits contains citral, which is a terpenoid also geranol extracted from the geranium oil is a terpenoid.
