Fragrance Aromatherapy Scent Classification

Fragrances used in the aromatherapy are mainly classified in two types; this will classify the fragrance according to origin of the scent. These two types are plant or animal if they are original and obtained from the plants and animal respectively. Another type is developed by the Chinese peoples according to six-scent group. These six types of scents are as per the emotions, which will be revealed when incense is lighted. They are as follows:

Fragrance from plant or animal origin:

Woody scents have the fragrance of sandalwood as well as cedar wood. Another fragrance is a spicy scent that includes the fragrance of cardamom and cinnamon. Third type is Earthy scent that has the fragrance of patchouli and vetiver. Another type is Balsamic scent that includes the fragrance of the benzoin and tolu balsam. The next category is of resinous scents that have the essence such as frankincense as well as myrrh. The last category is called as floral scent that has the fragrance of rose and jasmine. An herbal scent includes fragrance of the lavender and rosemary. The next scent is called as the citrus scent that has the fragrances of citronella and lemongrass. The last category is of the animal scents in which there are the fragrances of musk and many more.

Above-mentioned category is the category in which fragrances are derived from the plants or the animals. Next classification is according to the Chinese peoples who have derived it.

Classification with Chinese system:

Tranquility incense, it is generally lit at the time of dawn which is used to enjoy the peacefulness of early morning. Luxury incense is lit to make one cautious and used to remove sleepiness. Beauty incense is used to light to generate the romantic mood for love mate. Fourth type of incense is reclusivity which will helpful in alone time which will clean the dullness of the mind from the thoughts of common existence. Refinement incense is used to over comes the mental fatigue which comes because of the long tome study. Another incense is Nobility incense that is burned to dismiss wicked spirits and will help to keep them away in the full moon light.
