Eye Surgery And Lenses
The occurrence of the problems in the eyes has become a common thing in today’s world. These problems may include the refractive problems or other major problems like the cataract etc. when these problems occur among the different methods that are popular in the world the two common ones are the eye surgery and the second one is the use of the lenses.
The choice between the surgery and the lenses
During the surgery defect that is present in the eye is removed. Therefore for example during the refractive error correction the shape of the lens of the eye which has got distorted or has become irregular is again brought back in the same shape as it should be in order to provide a good vision. In some other problems of the retina or some of the other parts of the eyes, the part that has undergone damage is removed with the help of the surgery.
While on the other hand in the use of the lens we just place a lens in the eye and this lens, provide us the ability of good vision again for this various types of lenses are available in the market these days. We can choose from among them. They are classifiable according to the material and the quality, based on the functionality, or based on use etc.
According to the quality, the different types of lenses that are available in the market are soft lenses or hard lenses etc. According to the use, they are classifiable as disposable or long-lasting etc, and based on the use we can classify them as whether we have to insert them in the eye through the surgery or just use them on the daily basis.
The advantages and disadvantages of the surgery
The surgery is advantageous when it is not possible to solve the problem by the use of lenses. Thus, they can cure such eye diseases, which no other method can cure. In addition, if we undergo the surgery then we do not have to worry for the daily care afterwards as is needed in case of use of the lenses.
When we undergo a surgery of the eye, we should remember that the eye is a very delicate part of the body. Therefore, any surgery could create some problems with different parts of the eyes. Moreover, when we use the surgery for the correction of the refractive problems then in most of the cases the problem reappear after sometime. Also not all the people are physically fit for undergoing the surgery.
Advantages and disadvantages of the lenses
The use of the lenses is simple. Moreover, there is no alteration done with the eyes. Therefore, this raises fewer problems as compared to the surgery.
However, they cannot cure all the problems of the eyes.
