The eyeglasses and the contact lenses, both help the people whose eyes are facing the refractive problems, and therefore these people cannot see either the nearer objects or the distance objects. In the eyes of these people, the light does not focus on the retina properly. Its focus lies either in front of the retina or at the back of the retina. Both the eyeglasses as well as the contact lenses both focus the light on the retina.

The eyeglasses

For the eyeglasses, we have to put the frame on the face. This has some advantages as well as disadvantages also.

Advantages

As we use the eyeglasses on the face, we do not have to put them into our eyes. Therefore, as we do not need to touch the sensitive eyes there is no question of doing even a bit of damage to them. Moreover, this also prevents any slightest chance of infection. As we do not have to put them in to our eyes, there is no need to care for them as much as we do for the lenses.

Disadvantages

As we have to wear them on the face, many people do not like them. Wearing glasses is not popular thing among the friends or social circle. The users of the eyeglasses may develop an inferiority complex within them, as they surely are not a good sign for the personality.

Moreover, when we compare them with contact lenses the vision that he contact lenses provide is better than them.

The contact lenses

The user has to wear them in the eyes i.e. put the lenses in the eyes and they remain on the pupil of the eye. This is possible because of the surface tension of the watery fluid of the eyes.

Advantages

As we put them in the eyes and they directly lie on the eye lenses they can gather more light and therefore they provide a better vision. We can see object that are on the side of the face also just as the normal eye.

Moreover, as the eye glasses as we cannot make out whether the person is wearing the lenses or not they do not make any difference in the personality of the user.

Disadvantages

As we wear them in the eyes removing and wearing them may cause harm to them. Moreover, the lenses are very soft and therefore you need to take proper care for them. You need to replace them after some time.

These are only some of the points for the comparison of the eyeglasses and the contact lenses. However, there are many more features of each of them.
