Contact Lenses And Personality Grooming

Earlier personality grooming included lessons on how to speak properly or how to build up confidence etc as well as changing the style of clothes or the hair. But recently a new addition has been made which consists of makeover for the eyes. Eye makeup, colored lenses etc have made their presence feel in the world of personality grooming. Gone are those days when contact lenses were used in place of spectacles for clearer vision. Today contact lenses are used as a style statement or an accessory. People have become extremely conscious of their looks and personality. This consciousness has led to the invention of such accessories like colored lenses, disposable lenses etc. People are now ready to shell out any amount of money just to look pretty. Now people can shop for designer lenses which are used to enhance their beauty as well as overall personality.

Contact lenses come in different colors along with a plethora of accessories. These accessories may include eye-catching lens cases that match the color of hair, or national flags or different images, even differently shaped and sized bottles for holding lens solution, and ultrasonic lens cleaners and many more such accessories. Today even such make up is especially available which can be used only when you put on contact lenses.

Personality grooming can also be done using lenses of different colors and types such as visibility tints (light blue or green), enhancements tints (darker color), opaque color (hazel, gray) and light coloring tints (yellow and its shades). Each of these has its own characteristics. The selection of the tint of lenses can be based on the complexion of the person or the original colors of his/her own eyes or the color of hair.

Colored lenses add depth to the eyes and choosing the right color make a person look more beautiful. The other type of lenses used can be theatrical or costume lenses which are made of unnatural color to give the appearance of a ghost, an animal or many such other things. Such lenses can be bought from an optician or even online from websites such as EBay or Amazon etc.

The colored lenses are quite safe as they are soft lenses and most consumers find them easy to wear, comparatively cheap and they can be disposed off regularly. These disposable lenses last for about a month and hence people can keep changing their color as required and thus enhance their personality. This also causes their personality to be given a different perspective each time lenses and eye make up changes.

However as it is said every coin has two sides. Just as the colored lenses are advantages there are a few disadvantages. Sometimes the lens may slide over the pupil during blinking. Also the pupil keeps on changing its size during the time we are awake and during sleep. Using colored lenses during sleep may blur the vision once you get up. Lenses are made for individual use, however if shared may cause infections in the eyes. They also may pose dangerous problems such as total or partial blindness

Hence, doctors and experts suggest that before using colored lenses, a prescription is a must as it is also enforced by law.
