Contact Lens

Contact lenses are the part of the artificial lenses which are used for the purpose of eye correction. These contact lenses are used to place on the cornea of the eye as these are the corrective, cosmetic and therapeutic lenses. These are the modern lenses and these lenses serves same remedial as the conventional glass lenses are used for. Only difference in these two lenses is that these contact lenses are light weight lenses and visually invisible to the naked eye.

As they are invisible many lenses are made little blue to distinguish them from cleaning and the storage solutions. But some of the lenses are intentionally colored to give the different looks for the eye. Many of the peoples prefer contact lenses than the glass lenses as these contact lenses are attractive and give nice appearance for the eyes. These contact lenses will not be affected by the weather that much as the glass lenses do gets affected.

Along with this the contact lenses never steam up as well as it provides the wider range for vision. The another reason why peoples prefer the contact lenses is that these are best suited for any sports activity in addition with this the conditions given by ophthalmologist such as Keratoconus and aniseikonia can correct precisely using these contact lenses.

There are three types of these contact lenses in the functionality which are corrective, cosmetic and therapeutic.

Corrective contact lenses are intended to recover the vision. When the refracting power of the eye and length of the eye mismatches with each other at that time usually these contact lenses are used to correct it.

Another type of the contact lens is the cosmetic contact lenses. As the name suggests these lenses are used to give the emergence for the eye. These can also be used for corrective measures but color and design of this lens may become a hindrance for it.

The third type of the contact lens is the therapeutic contact lens, generally these lenses are used to treat and manage the non refractive disorders of the eye. Constant rubbing and blinking of the eyelid will cure the injured cornea with the help of bandage contact lens.
