The skin is the major limb of our body and up till now most of us do not do an adequate amount of to keep up our skin’s health. One of the functions of our skin is to get rid of a segment of the body’s waste products all the way through sweating. If toxins run away all the way through the skin they perturb the skin’s health uprightness. Lovely looking skin is a magnificent thing to have for the reason that it is right there on your appearance, it is kind of hard to hide. The skin in addition acts as a membrane and protects our bodies from the exterior world. The majority of us do not feel that our skin is so great looking. Even if you were born with a superb complexion, you should make a try to take care of it in the approved manner.

Treating oily skin:

According to the experts suggestions the cleansing of your face two or three times daily with good old soap and water will do a lot to bring the oily skin in control. Bundle down a pre-moistened cleansing pad if you won’t be around a water basin throughout the day. Also, be careful of the fact that the dermatologists and aestheticians time and again disagree on which types of soaps or cleansers to use, but all agree that once you find a product that works in good health for your skin, you should continue using it. Go after the recommendations of dermatologists and shower or bathe in tepid more willingly than steaming-hot water. Strictly avoid using cleansers that have a tendency to over dry skin.

Oily skin:

Oily skin carries a lot of sebum which helps put off the skin from drying out. Then again, oily skin acts as to be a magnet for more dirt and dust than dry skin. It definitely benefits from soap and water, so washing with a cleansing bar is an vital method of being gentle for it. Use temperate water to slacken off the dirt, and then use cold water to rinse.

Excessive Oily skin requires special type of treatment. If excessively oily skin and acne, treat the acne first and wait to address the appearance of oily skin. The excessively oily skin can be identified as follows:

Appearance:
1. Usually characterized by a skin thick;
2. Open pores;
3. Looks yellowish;
4. Sensitive;
5. Tendency to have acne.

Touch:
1. Greasy and wet
2. Thick and rough

Antibacterial Cleanser and Green Tea Poultice contain ingredients to remove oil and free fatty acids from skin. Ingredients in these products, such as zinc, cinnamon, green tea, etc. may reduce sebum production in some cases where excessive sebum production is the cause of excessively oily skin.

Oil Absorbing Gel will not reduce production of oil but it will absorb oil and give the skin an oil-free appearance. The product is made of synthetic molecules that are too big to penetrate into the skin. The product stays on the skin’s surface and absorbs oil. Oil Absorbing Gel will not clog follicles It will not promote acne, blackheads or whiteheads. It gives a matte finish look.

Exfoliation:

Exfoliation is a technique where the outer most layer of skin is removed. This exposes fresh and mostly living cells. The benefits of exfoliation include fresher, brighter looking skin, better penetration of active ingredients of skin care products and, for people with excessively oily skin, a degree of reduction in oil secretion. Common exfoliation methods include alpha and beta hydroxy acids, enzyme peels, and microdermabrasion. Beta-hydroxy acids, such as salicylic acid, are particularly effective in reducing excess oil production and are recommended for oily, acne-prone skin.

Essential Oils for very oily skin:

Aromatherapy can help to control oil production. Oils like Bergamot, Frankincense, Geranium, Juniper, Lavender, Lemon, Sage can be used.
Do not use Benzyl peroxide as it can cause premature skin aging, and increased skin cancer risks.

Oily skin is due to overactive sebaceous glands found beneath the skin that secrete sebum. Oily skin though observed generally among people of all ages is found mainly among adolescents. There are many oily skin products available in the market that can be used to take care of oily skin. Cleansers, moisturizers, facials, facemasks and creams are some of the products used to deal with oily skin.

Oily skin products – cleansers

Cleansers help to clean the face removing oiliness, dirt and also help to unclog the pores of the skin. Cleansers also help to hydrate the skin as most of the cleansers also have substances that moisturize besides helping to clean the face. Cleansers can be used three to four times a day. Cleansers should not be too harsh on the skin. A mild cleanser used with hot water is recommended.

Oily skin products – moisturizers

While taking care of oily skin, it is important to see that the products we use must not leave the skin very dry and flaky. The important thing is to keep the skin looking fresh and radiant and not oily. Moisturizers are meant to hydrate the skin and make them look fresh and clean. A good moisturizer is one that unclogs pores on the skin, keeping it free from dirt and dust thus reducing blemishes and acne.

Oily skin products – masks and creams

Mud and clay masks are advised for people with excess sebum flow. Night creams that moisturize the skin are also used while treating oily skin. A beauty expert can tell you the right kind of mud or clay mask to be used and also how frequently they must be applied to the skin. Creams should moisturize but not leave the skin looking oilier than before. Choose beauty products with care and seek expert advice if required.

Natural skin care products for taking care of oily skin

Naturally found substances like lime, honey and cucumber are used in cleansers, face packs and creams. These can also be directly applied to the face as pastes and then rinsed using a mild soap if necessary and hot or warm water depending on the extent of oily texture of the skin. Natural products are best as they do not have any side effects and can be used by anyone with ease.

Oily skin is shiny, thick and dull colored. Often a chronically oily skin has coarse pores and pimples and other embarrassing blemishes. It is prone to blackheads. In this type of skin, the oil producing sebaceous glands are overactive and produce more oil than is needed. The oil oozes and gives the skin a greasy shine. The pores are enlarged and the skin has a coarse look. The reason too much oil is being released has to do with the lipids and fatty acid deposits underneath the skin not getting broken down and re-circulated into the bloodstream. Instead they are being released as sebum (oil). What enables our body to break down these fatty acids is directly related to an enzyme called coenzyme A, which is an essential enzyme to the body and is used for fatty acid metabolism.

Causes of oily skin:

1) Heredity
2) Diet
3) Hormone levels
4) Pregnancy
5) Birth control pills
6) Cosmetics you use
7) Humidity and hot weather

Because of the hormonal shifts of adolescence, oily skin is common in teenagers, but it can occur at any age. In general, skin tends to become dryer with age. The flow of sebum or oil increases during adolescence and starts decreasing with age. During pregnancy and menopause, hormonal imbalances can also upset the oil balance and increase the activity of sebaceous glands. Many people have skin that is oily only in certain areas and dry or normal in others, a condition known as combination skin.

Skin Care for Oily Skin:

1) The great advantage of oily skin is that it ages at a slower rate than other skin types.
2) Oily skin needs special cleansing with plenty of hot water and soap to prevent the pores from being clogged. Avoid harsh products that strip your skin of oil and encourage flakiness. They can cause a reaction known as reactive seborrhea, where the oil glands work overtime to compensate for the loss of natural oils.
3) Avoid skincare products that leave your skin feeling taut and dehydrated. They cause the upper layers of the skin to shrink. This restricts oil flow through the pores leading to blockages and breakouts.
4) To cleanse oily skin, use oil-based products as they dissolve sebum effectively. Opt for oil-free moisturizers to maintain a shine-free complexion.
5) Keep your skin very clean. Limit washing your face to two or three times a day. Too much washing will stimulate your skin to produce more oil.
6) Choose your cleanser with care. Avoid heavy cleansing creams. Avoid the use of harsh soaps or cleansers. Use a pure soap with no artificial additives. Try an antibacterial cleansing lotion or a lightly medicated soap, and use it in combination with a water rich in minerals, not tap water. Do not use cleansers or lotions that contain alcohol. After cleansing, apply a natural oil-free moisturizer to keep the skin supple.
7) Use hot water when washing your face. Hot water dissolves skin oil better than lukewarm or cold water.
If your skin is extremely oily, three or four daily cleansings may be in order and little or no moisturizing necessary before you are 30 years old. After that point, the skin around your eyes and mouth and on your throat may benefit from a nightly moisturizing, plus a mere touch of moisturizer in the morning.

Apply on your face half teaspoon each of lime and cucumber juice mixed together just half an hour before taking your bath. If your skin is extremely oily, blend in a few drops of eau de cologne. This not only helps keep oiliness gone save for in addition helps in refining the pores of the skin by acting as astringent, thereby preventing acne. To avoid the difficulty of your makeup becoming patchy either on the forehead, chin or nose due to extreme oiliness in these areas, apply a little cucumber juice on the excessively oily parts of your face, dry carefully and then apply your makeup. Make your face well dried before putting on your makeup. You can use a clay or mud mask to clear away excess oil.

Diet for reducing oily Skin:

You have to take a diet that is rich in proteins but restricted in sugar, fluids and salt. Go ahead in taking plenty of leafy green vegetables and fresh fruits. Have your blood brought up to par by the appropriate administration of essential vitamins, iron and similar substances. Even a slim insufficiency in vitamin B2 can cause oily skin. Nutritional yeast, wheat germ and organ meats make available together vitamin B5 and vitamin B2. Other high quality sources of vitamin B2 are whole grains, beans, nuts, and royal jelly. Buckwheat, black beans and whole rice are first rate to make available the body with iron and rejuvenate pate skin. Drink a lot of quality water to keep the skin hydrated and flush away toxins. Trim down the amount of fat in your diet. Straightly avoid pork and fried and very much seasoned foods. You should bring down consuming animal fats, or heat-processed vegetable oils. Never ever cook your food with oil. You should strictly avoid eating any oils that have been subjected to heat, whether in processing or cooking. If a little oil is indispensable such as in salad dressing, use cold-pressed canola or olive oil and no more than that.
