Lander Vitrectomy lenses is a auto-adhering lens which is made up of a material which is made up of flexible material. This allows Landers Vitrectomy lenses to stick or fix it to the corneal or scleral regions of the eyes. This adhering to these regions of the eyes is due to only one factor that is the capillary grip phenomenon. So the procedure of holding the lens to the eyes can be avoided very easily. This is not all the Landers Vitrectomy lenses are also disposable in nature been cheap in price. So for every new patient a new lens can be provided this is a specialty of these lenses. So it makes sure the use of good optics for the patients.

Description of the Landers Vitrectomy lenses:

Landers Vitrectomy lenses include central part which is optically shaped and sized for the observing the interior regions of the eyes which is normally not viewable due to the optical properties of eyes which is natural. So the shape and size of this lens is made in such a way that it will counteract the effect of optical properties of eyes.

The central part of the lens, which is mentioned earlier, has concave surface on the inner side. The radius of curvature of this lens is R1. This radius is meant especially for contact with the corneal region of the eyes. The outer lip of this lens is an integrated or inseparable part of this central lens always projects out in radial orientation with respect to the central lens. The structure of the outer lip is a concave surface which normally extents upto the central part of the lens respectively. The radius of this outer lip is known as R2 and it is always greater than the radius of the central potion that is R2 is always greater than R1 whatever the dimensions may be. The reason for this arrangement is that outer lip is meant to contact scleral portion of the eyes. The outer lip is shaped for the purpose of deflection relative to the portion of central lens. One disadvantage of the Vitrectomy lenses is that they can br damaged while cleaning but this disadvantage is overcome by the disposable nature and cheap price of this lens.

The main use of this lens is to allow doctors to view mainly the posterior portion of the eyes while operating.

The eyeglasses and the contact lenses, both help the people whose eyes are facing the refractive problems, and therefore these people cannot see either the nearer objects or the distance objects. In the eyes of these people, the light does not focus on the retina properly. Its focus lies either in front of the retina or at the back of the retina. Both the eyeglasses as well as the contact lenses both focus the light on the retina.

The eyeglasses

For the eyeglasses, we have to put the frame on the face. This has some advantages as well as disadvantages also.

Advantages

As we use the eyeglasses on the face, we do not have to put them into our eyes. Therefore, as we do not need to touch the sensitive eyes there is no question of doing even a bit of damage to them. Moreover, this also prevents any slightest chance of infection. As we do not have to put them in to our eyes, there is no need to care for them as much as we do for the lenses.

Disadvantages

As we have to wear them on the face, many people do not like them. Wearing glasses is not popular thing among the friends or social circle. The users of the eyeglasses may develop an inferiority complex within them, as they surely are not a good sign for the personality.

Moreover, when we compare them with contact lenses the vision that he contact lenses provide is better than them.

The contact lenses

The user has to wear them in the eyes i.e. put the lenses in the eyes and they remain on the pupil of the eye. This is possible because of the surface tension of the watery fluid of the eyes.

Advantages

As we put them in the eyes and they directly lie on the eye lenses they can gather more light and therefore they provide a better vision. We can see object that are on the side of the face also just as the normal eye.

Moreover, as the eye glasses as we cannot make out whether the person is wearing the lenses or not they do not make any difference in the personality of the user.

Disadvantages

As we wear them in the eyes removing and wearing them may cause harm to them. Moreover, the lenses are very soft and therefore you need to take proper care for them. You need to replace them after some time.

These are only some of the points for the comparison of the eyeglasses and the contact lenses. However, there are many more features of each of them.

Toric contact lenses get a bad rap. They are notorious for requiring an extra long time for fitting from your doctors. And when you finally do get your prescription, toric lenses still might not fit entirely right on your eye, which may leave them feeling more uncomfortable than usual soft lenses. To top it off, they usually cost a ton more than regular lenses. That may have been the case in the past, but now that Proclear compatible toric lenses are on the market, Proclear compatible toric lenses bring only upsides to wearing toric lenses.

Proclear compatible toric lenses allow you to have unparalleled comfort when wearing your lenses, all day long. The secret to this unprecedented comfort is the special PC Technology put into every Proclear lens. PC technology does not have to do with computers. In this case, PC technology is a unique material called phosphorylcholine (PC), a substance found in the membranes of human cell. You still following me here? These PC molecules are so important in the body, and in your eye, because they collect water around themselves. For your contact lenses, that means Proclear lenses are always moist and comfortable, even after a day’s worth of wear.

That makes Proclear compatible toric lenses the perfect fit for people who have had problems with comfort and toric lenses in the past. In fact, these lenses are the only ones that can boast a special FDA claim that they offer improved comfort for contacts wearers who otherwise experience problems associated with dry eyes.

No other regular brand of plastic soft lenses can make this claim, but more importantly for people with astigmatism, not other toric brand can definitely make this claim. Proclear compatible toric lenses can give you the clear sightedness and comfort that you’d only find previously in your eyeglasses. If you’re tired of wearing glasses, though, Proclear can be a godsend. They’ll open the door to a world without glasses that you may once have felt locked out of. Take off those glasses and put on Proclear, and you’ll be able to see clearly for hours every day before even thinking about taking the lenses out.

The cornea is a part of the eye and it is transparent, it performs an important part in the entry of the light in the eyes. It covers the parts of the eyes like the iris pupil and the anterior chamber. The cornea is the best example of the concavo-convex lens. The cornea also plays a very important part the focusing of the light on the retina.

Structure of the cornea

The cornea also has the sensitive nerve endings that are sensitive towards the touch temperature, chemicals. If some foreign body enters the eyes and comes in touch with the cornea, it senses it and causes a reflex that makes the eyes to close. We can divide it into five different layers. These different layers possess different types of cells.

The cornea composes of a tissue that does not have any blood vessels. This is for the provision of the transparency for the passage of the light. It has a different mechanism for the derivation of the nutrients and oxygen. It gets oxygen directly from the air and it derives its nutrients from the surrounding tissue. In a human eye, it has a diameter of 11.5 mm and a thickness of 0.5mm to 0.6 mm in the central region and approximately of 0.6 to 0.8 mm in the peripheral region.

The general refractive power of the cornea is around 43 dioptres. This constitutes the two-third of the total power of the eye.

The working of the cornea

The cornea is the outer most part of the eyes. Therefore, whenever any light falls on our eyes it first falls counteracts with the cornea. As the cornea is also transparent and it has a good refractivity it is the first one to refract the light, before the lenses does it. Though it is a concavo-convex lens, it does more the job of the convex lens than the concave lens. Therefore, it focuses the light on the lens. This focusing of the light on the lens has some advantages as more light falls on the lens and this makes a sharper image possible.

Moreover, than the focusing of the light the cornea also does not allow the harmful ultraviolet light to fall on the lens and then, transmit to the retina.

Immediately after the main brands of contact lenses had appeared in the market, there were (and still are) a number of local manufacturers who not only emulate the branded lenses, but also sell them at a fraction of the cost of the former. The result, is that many “just try out” the cheap ones only because they are available at a throw-away price.

The Problem with Out of Focus Contact Lens Products

1. Immediately discontinue use of the said contact lens. If it is branded, you may return the same for refund and advice the dealer or shop keeper on your problems with the lens. If not, just throw them away.

2. Check your eyes immediately with an ophthalmologist to rule out any type of damage to your eyes. Ensure that the doctor will explain why you have out-of-focus vision and leave the matter only when you are totally satisfied with the answer. In can you do not get in with one doctor, please check with another till you get all your answers.

3. If everything is okay, then change your brand after checking with a doctor to find which the best is received in the area you live in.

Prolonged Damage as a Result of Out of Focus Contact Lens Products

Many people tend to ignore the little tell-tale signs that our bodies give us to point at any ailment that has negatively affected or would be affecting us. Pain, by the way, is our best friend, because it acts as a loud-and-clear alarm showing where things could/ are really going wrong.

I have seen many times when people ignore serous symptoms, only to find out later that they suffer in silence from the terminal diseases, which could have been cured if he/she would have started the treatment a few months ago. It is always good, to check on anything that looks odd or funny. Stay away from any product that is sold extremely cheap; this is likely to cause problems. Using an out of focus contact lens is extremely dangerous to your sight.

Hence, as I was saying before, the moment you see that the product has a defect, it does not matter when how many days you used it; discard it immediately either to the shopkeeper, or the dustbin. Just remember with lenses most people initially feel and look incredibly relaxed even when though they use out of focus contact lens.

For those who like to wear these even after warning, be informed that such a practice can claim your vision, and sometimes even your life.

There are many ways in which you can get your discounted contact lenses if you are looking for a bargain price. You will find coupons offered for certain products in shops, newspapers, magazines, and so on. You will also find plenty of discounted contact lenses offered online whenever you visit the site of a major contact lens brand.

Discounted Contact Lenses Found Online VS Discounted Contact Lenses Found In Stores

Both in the case of online discounts, as well as those offered in the store, there are certain conditions to be met. Sometimes (most of the time) it is the date – you will need to avail of the discounted offer within a limited time period, after which the offer will be void; there might be also constraints of purchases – such as if you buy a certain amount of products from a particular brand, then you will be offered a certain discount on that brand’s contacts. There are many other schemes, all having their own requirements.

As differences go, online discounted contact lenses are sometimes more complicated to get. You will need to type the code of the coupon very carefully as it may be case sensitive, and then you will have to download it to print it. The store or newspaper discount coupons are just there waiting to be picked up.

A Few Points to Keep in Mind

Sometimes discount coupons do not have a brand mentioned. At that time, the coupon may be honored on whatever brand is available in the store at the time of the purchase. If the store does not have your brand, then you will have a problem. Hence, be careful when you cash in your discount coupon lest you will end up with something that you did not really want.

When you are buying online, be careful when you make your payments that the discount mentioned is definitely entered in the money charged to your card or account. Sometimes, you need to mention the coupon number before the automatic billing will register that this is a discounted sale.

You can definitely get a great number of discounted contact lenses provided you are willing to make a few searches in the right places. You will be able to buy any brand at a discount if you are patient. In order to ensure that you never miss a sale in your area, get friendly with the most important contact lens shops in your area, and ask them to inform you of when they have discounted sales.

Diagnostic lenses are mainly used for Diagnostic purposes. So the utility of these lenses is huge. They can be used for any purposes like diagnosis of a disorder in the systems before operation. Therefore, they help doctors in finding the damaged areas which are present inside the body. Diagnostic lens are also used for trail purposes. For example Diagnostic lens are also intended or meant for the temporary or more precisely trial fittings for candidates which aspire to use lenses for their eyes. They also can work as a temporary and rare replacement for the torn out and sometimes even lost lenses. Note that Diagnostic lenses are not for sale as the normal lenses are in first place. They are only for trial purposes or for advertisements.

Diagnostic lens are very flexible in nature that is they can be modified according to the demands of surgery, they can also be used for the purpose of research, development and even therapeutic requirements. Such is the amount of flexibility of Diagnostic lenses so they have become popular day after day.

Types of Diagnostic Lenses:

Diagnostic lenses are of various types. These types depend on the use and the purpose of the diagnostic lenses. We are going to consider the types of lenses one by one

The types of lenses are as follows:

First we have here

Fundus Lens:

There are a number of contact lenses available on the market today, each different than the other. The leading brands are competing against each other, not only in quality and new designs, but also in contact lens price. Based on price, there are a number of imitations that have appeared on the market, specifically catering to those who look for a bargain.

Compromising on Contact Lens Price May Prove a Costly and Dangerous Choice

There are many people who put the price as the top most deciding factor when buying a product. This is indeed an important factor, but not at the cost of your health. Many of those who compromised on price when deciding on which contact to buy, would have found sooner or later that this is a really dangerous choice. Cheap contact lenses are likely to harm the eyes and create many problems; besides these do not last even half the time they are supposed to, since they are usually of inferior quality.

There are many times when following the use of poor quality contact lenses, the eyes get infected and require extensive medical care. If you are lucky, you will only end up with a mild infection and the bill for the ensuing medical care. However, there are times when people end up losing their vision or damaging their eyes’ lenses irreversibly as a result from using inferior quality contacts.

The Best Thing to Do When You Want to Cut Down on Contact Lens Price

You do have a choice, and good ones at that, when you prefer to pay less than the market contact lens price. The best choice is to run a search on the Internet for discount offers available either online, or in shops that are close to you. There will always be some place within your reach where the contact lens price will be less on certain qualified name brands. Go only for reputed brands when you choose contacts because your eyes are not something that you can afford to compromise.

Another useful tip for lowering the contact lens price for your budget is to buy during sales. There will be many sales available in your region when the contact lenses will be sold cheaper than the market price. Be tuned in for those times and make your purchase then. However, be very careful when you look at lower prices; check the expiry date, check that the brands are correct, and do not be afraid to ask questions if you are in doubt.

They are your eyes, your windows to the world, so it only makes sense that you want to take the very best care of them. That involves protecting them when you’re playing sports, riding your bike, or being active in any other way. And it’s even more important when it comes to what you put in your eyes. When it comes to contact lenses, only the utmost in quality should do. That makes Acuvue 2 contacts the clear choice. Acuvue 2 contacts come from the trusthworthy Johnson & Johnson Vision Care family of products.

Acuvue 2 contacts get their name because they are designed to be worn in two-week increments as daily wear lenses. In this case, you should make sure to remove the contacts every night. On the other hand, if you enjoy the convenience of extended wear contacts, you can also wear the Acuvues for one week while sleeping with them in.

However you use your Acuvue 2 contacts, they seem to get excellent results for their wearers. According to the manufacturer’s research, the lenses provide better than 20/20 vision in seven out of 10 people who wear them. That’s almost an unfair advantage over people who don’t wear contacts or who wear a competing brand!

What’s more, Acuvue 2 contacts provide a standard in quality when it comes to UV-Blocking. Protecting your eyes from the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun is crucial if you live an active lifestyle outdoors. UV-A and UV-B rays have been linked to cancers, cataracts, and other chronic conditions, so any protection against them is essential.

For frequent contacts wearers, though, these benefits are secondary. Their most important aspect of contact lenses in many cases are how comfortable they are to leave in their eyes. If that’s your main concern, then Acuvue 2 contacts are for you. They are so comfortable that you may forget that you even have them in your eyes.

And as for the comfort of putting them in and taking them out — which can be very uncomfortable for beginners — Acuvue 2 contacts have the edge, too. It’s simple to put them on and take them out, even if you’re a novice at it.

With the advent of contact lenses in the second half of the twentieth century, there are been wondrous advancements in the quality, feel, and look of lenses. First came soft contact lenses with their comfort, their low cost, and their reliability. Then came disposable lenses and toric lenses, which help more and more people enjoy the benefits of corrective eye lenses. Perhaps the latest, and wildest, advancement in contact lenses are colored contacts. Colored contacts allow people to enhance or completely change the color of their eyes, whether they want to give themselves a permanent look change or if they just want to match their outfit for the evening.

You have four types of colored contacts to choose from, including visibility tints, enhancement tints, opaque-color tints, and light-filtering tints. Many, if not all, of these varieties come in styles that can be used by people who normally do not need corrective eye wear. These style lenses are called plano form lenses. On the other hand, colored lenses are also available for people who need correction for astigmatism and for bifocals, as well as people who like or require disposable kinds or other contacts that can be frequently replaced.

Visibility tint colored contacts are more for ease of use than for style. These lenses come with a light blue or green tint that is added to the lenses so you can see them when you are inserting and removing them. Plus, when you drop them – and everybody drops their lenses once in a while! – you will be able to find them much easier. The light blue or green tint, though, isn’t visible when the lenses are in your eyes.

Enhancement tint colored contacts, on the other hand, have a translucent but darker tint. The color is not meant to change the shade of your eyes, but to enhance your existing color – hence, their name. Doctors usually recommend these contacts for people who feel they have eyes with too light of a color and who feel they want their eyes to be more attractive and, what else, eye catching.

The last two types of colored contacts can drastically alter your eye color or even your vision. Opaque color lenses can completely change your eye shade from brown to blue, blue to purple. They can be used as a fashion statement or just for a change of mood. Light-filtering contacts are used for performance. They can amazingly enhance certain colors in your field of view so that a tennis ball or a golf ball, for instance, stands out and is easier to strike. These performance lenses are truly the next step in corrective eye wear.
