Care After Spray Tan

A lot of issues are there to be considered after a spray-tanning session. It is important to keep a spray tan moist. Also one needs to guard it from becoming dry and rubbing off. A good way to do that is to moisturize it morning and night. It is also important to avoid things that exfoliate skin excessively. After a spray tan, it is better to use gentle shower products. Some products are very harsh and using them can take tan off in patches. So a shower gel or a moisturizing soap will be just fine for use.

A spray tan has a tendency to initially come off from places that are used most, like hands and face. So it is better to use lighter clothes after tanning. Moisturizing and touching up a tan in morning should be for no more that a couple of minutes. It is essential that proper exfoliation be done before tanning. It is observed that while sun tanning, knees become darker than rest of the body. Obviously, having knees spray tanned darker just makes them look more natural. Darker stains can be rubbed off with the help of lemon juice, liquid bleach, or hydrogen peroxide. For completely removing a tan, one can moisturize his body with baby oil, and leave it on for a couple of hours, and then have a hot bath. Another way is to take exfoliating gloves, pour some exfoliating gel onto them and scrub everything off. Still another way to avoid all these things is to look for a salon that uses a solution with very little bronzer, or none at all. By doing this, stains become almost non-existent. Some companies allow localized test spray to check skin compatibility in case of persons with highly sensitive skin.

Once a tan is applied, it must be allowed to dry completely. It is better not to wet skin at least 5 hours after a tanning session. It is also recommended for a person to not to exercise or perspire excessively immediately after a tanning session. One should avoid long bathing sessions, hot spas, and extended swimming sessions.
